Timely access to appropriate inputs and services has always been a challenge to farmers in the remote communities in Wa West District. Women farmers are particularly disadvantaged. ISRD has been working with women groups to facilitate sustainable linkages with tractor services providers, who commit to provide them timely services. This challenges is almost a thing of the past...

Most farmers in the Northern Ghana stay idle during the dry season, which is about a half of the year. During this period farmers do not make any incomes and fresh vegetables are hard to come by. ISRD trains youth groups and give them agronomic support to go into vegetables production during the off season. By this, incomes are improved and food availability is enhanced. Dry season vegetables production also curbs the North-South migration among the youth.
